Interview 1 Reflection

1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?  Is there anything I would do differently for other interviews?

The most important thing I learned from the interview is that being a loan officer is tough and is only getting tougher to qualify. What I also learn is that it may take years of hard work and dedication to be in the position I want to be in and to just make sure not to give up because in the end it'll all work out.

2. Did I get additional resources and contacts?  What is the most useful?  Why?

Some resources that I got are just more knowledge and understanding of how competitive the field can be and how hard you have to work in order to be where you want to be. This is the most useful because when working in an industry as hard as being a loan officer and working for an auto industry it takes patience and time for things to happen, you can't expect such a dramatic difference and you have to put hard work into everything you do.

3. What makes my interviewee qualified to help me?

What makes my interviewee qualified to help me is that she works  as a loan officer in the automobile industry. It has taken her years and a lot of dedication of her job to get where she is today and by getting some type of viewpoint from her shows that not everything in life comes easy and if you put the time and work to something, you will be able to accomplish many things.

Blog 4: House Advisory Prep

Write a short explanation of what you are hoping to accomplish through your senior project topic.

What I'm hoping to accomplish through my senior project topics is experience in the loan officer industry and knowledge about working for a corporation as a loan officer. There's so much to learn about in the loan officer industry such as, when's the right time to lock in interest rate, how long does it take for the whole process of getting a loan from the bank, is there a certain time period for getting the loan and what happens if that time period isn't met. I also want to be able to read and understand all the paper work that is involved in the loan process because not only would it help me out if I ever wanted to be a loan officer as my career but it's good to know about the whole process and how it works when I purchase or refinance a home later on in the future.

Blog 3: Interview Prep

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?
I plan on interviewing another loan officer either around where I live or where my mentor works at. The reason why I would interview them is to get a different answer and viewpoint from the loan officer than I would with just my regular mentor.
2.  Five questions will be assigned to all seniors to ask.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?  Ask open-ended questions.  What are open-ended questions?

1. Why is it much harder to become a loan officer today than it was 10 years ago?
2. Another question I would ask is what benefits are there in being a loan officer?
3. What motivates you to do the best you can in your job?
4. Why did you choose to be a loan officer as your career?
5. How much dedication did it take for you to get where you are today?
