Last Presentation Reflection

(1) Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
I am most proud of my final presentation because I was able to elaborate and inform others on my topic as best as possible

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation?  Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

I would give myself a P because I met all the requires needed

b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project?
Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

I would give myself a P because I met all the requires needed

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?

What worked for me was the amount of research I did on my topic

(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project?

I would've tried to see if I could get a more hands on experience

(5) Finding Value

How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.

The senior project has been helpful by helping get a better idea of what I want to pursue later on in life. After having this topic I realized it wasn't really meant for me and I want to do something with business in sports

Exit Interview Prep

(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answers?  What is your best answer and why?

How can a loan officer successfully close a loan while satisfying their client's interest

(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?

I had to do research and talk with my hub teacher to realize how the client is just as important as the deal

(3) What problems did you face?  How did you resolve them?

Some problems I faced where finding sources from loan officers that where just marketing themselves. I was able to solve it by continuing extensive research

(4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?

My two significant resources is my interview with my mentor and interview with Juan Herrera. It helped me find my answers better because they where coming straight from an officers mouth.

Independent Component 2

(a) Include this statement: “I, student name, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 61 hr 30 of work.”
(b) Cite your source regarding who or what article or book helped you complete the independent component.

What helped my complete my independent component was my professor and my principles of economics textbook

(c) Update your Independent Component 2 Log (which should be under your Senior Project Hours link)

(d) Explain what you completed.

I took a class on economics, specifically microeconomics at Cal Poly Pomona

(e) Defend your work and explain the component's significance and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.

Microeconomics a lot explained on how businesses and individual work and function in order to create more money or a revenue. It is well above 30 hrs of work as i went to class twice a week for almost 2 hours plus spending 2+ hours on the weekend studying and working on my class

(f)How did the component help you answer your EQ? Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.

This component helped me because it gave me an unerstanding of why loan officers do things for a reason. An example is opportuntity cost. A loan officer won't give up an opportuntity to llock in a rate (which is my second answer) too late or else the client may end up paying more

Third Answer

  • EQ
How can a loan officer best complete a loan while maximizing the interests of the officer and his client?
  • Answer #3 (Write in a complete sentence like a thesis statement)*
Determining what loan and which loan is best
  • 3 details to support the answer
There are different loans and lengths of loans to choose from
Choosing the right loan depends on what the client can pay and what they plan to do with property
The right loan chosen can result in a huge difference of amount client may pay and for how long
  • The research source(s) to support your details and answer
https://www.incharge.org/incharge-guide-to-homeownership/home-loan-officers
http://www.inman.com/2015/09/15/how-to-help-your-client-select-the-best-mortgage-for-their-big-adventure/
  • Concluding Sentence
My reasoning to my third answer is because there are a few different loans and different lengths of loans such as a 15 year and 30 year loan that need to be discussed between the loan officer and client to see which one is the best choice.

3.  What is your second answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
My second answer is locking in the loan

4.  List three reasons your answer is true with a real-world application for each.
For my first answer some real world situations are:

  • talking with the bank on the loan
  • communicating with your client and making sure everything is good
  • trying to promote yourself to real estate agents

For my second answer some real world situations are:

  • when you get a mortgage loan
  • if someone tries to refinance
  • getting a commercial loan

5.  What printed source best supports your answer?

7.  Tie this together with a  concluding thought.
