Blog 18

1.  What is your EQ?
How can a loan officer best complete a loan while maximizing the interests of the officer and his client?

2.  What is your first answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
My first answer is communication within the organization

3.  What is your second answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
My second answer is locking in the loan

4.  List three reasons your answer is true with a real-world application for each.
For my first answer some real world situations are:

  • talking with the bank on the loan
  • communicating with your client and making sure everything is good
  • trying to promote yourself to real estate agents

For my second answer some real world situations are:

  • when you get a mortgage loan
  • if someone tries to refinance
  • getting a commercial loan

5.  What printed source best supports your answer?

6.  What other source supports your answer?

7.  Tie this together with a  concluding thought.
For my second answer I plan on having, locking a loan. Locking a loan is very crucial in the very early stages of the loan process and could be the difference between the client having the spend an extra twenty thousand on their home or not.

Interview 3 Reflection

1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?

The most important thing I learned form the interview is how to satisfy your client more efficiently while closing a loan.

2.  How has your approach to interviewing changed over the course of your senior project?

My approach towards interviews have changed in a sense that I try to give more follow up questions when I can

Independent Component 2 Approval

1.  Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.

For my second independent component I plan on taking a Economics class at Cal Poly Pomona

2.  Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.

I will show the evidence of my independent component by printing out a transcript of my class and how many hours it was

3.  Explain how this component will help you explore your topic in more depth.

This component will help me go more in depth in my topic because Economics is involved in everything throughout the world and the amount of loan officers that are needed depends on how the economy is going

4.  Post a log in your Senior Project Hours link and label it "Independent Component 2" log.

Independent Component 1

  • LITERAL
    (a) Write: “I, Jesse Eyster, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.”
    (b) Cite your source regarding who or what article or book helped you complete the independent component.
    • My source is Cindy Ruiz which is one of my mentors
  • (c) Update your hours in your Senior Project Hours link. Make sure it is clearly labeled with hours for individual sessions as well as total hours.
  • (d) Explain what you completed.
    • For my independent component I was able to shadow, look over some loan files of clients and talk to my mentor and get more information on how crucial communication is for loan officers
  • INTERPRETIVE
Defend your work and explain its significance to your project and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.
    • Shadowing and going over loan files helped me understand why it was important to communicate well with the client and to see if there was anything wrong with the loan application
  • APPLIED
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better?  Please include specific examples to illustrate this.
    • This component helped me understand my topic better because I was able to understand more about the loan process and get more information for my Answer 1 of my EQ

Lesson 2 Reflection

1.What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?

I am most proud of making time and using my time effectively to talk about loan officer and my essential question

2. a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

I would give myself a P grading for the lesson 2 presentation

     b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.

I believe I deserve this grade because I met all the requirements to get a P and used my time effectively.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?

I think what worked for me in lesson 2 was that I spoke better without much hesitating and spoke at a good volume

4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?

If I had something to do differently I would've probably made the Activity more fun or engaging.

5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?

I think my answer 2 will be, making sure the loan is locked at the right time
